Job summary

Twin Eagle seeks a Maintenance Operator to oversee conveyor belts, pneumatic systems, scale house operations, and railcar movements at the terminal. You will perform preventive maintenance, document defects, and keep accurate records using FIXX MMS.

Ideal candidates are mechanically skilled, safety-focused, able to work in a fast-paced environment, and comfortable coordinating with engineers, drivers, and yard personnel while adhering to strict safety protocols.

Qualifications

  • Two to three years of hands-on experience with hydraulic, electrical, and pneumatic systems preferred.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude, with proficiency in basic math and computer systems.
  • Commitment to upholding safety culture and participating in safety training.
  • Able to read and follow written/verbal instructions with minimal supervision.
  • Able to complete required paperwork legibly, accurately and on time.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills; able to work with team and third-party personnel.
  • Must be available to work weekends, overtime, and holidays.

Responsibilities

  • General housekeeping and phone communications in the scale house.
  • Load sand trucks using the automation system; coordinate with drivers.
  • Operate railcar loaders/unloaders and manage safety while working around heavy equipment.

Job description

The Maintenance Operator plays a critical role in maintaining conveyor belts and pneumatic systems and performing operations such as scale house, silo loader, and railcar movements at the terminal. The ideal candidate is mechanically skilled, safety-focused, and comfortable working in a fast-paced industrial environment.

Duties and Responsibilities

Maintenance:

  • Perform and assist with preventative maintenance of conveyor belts and pneumatic systems
  • Inspect, service, grease, and lubricate equipment; change oils on scheduled basis
  • Identify and document equipment defects and performance deficiencies; complete inspection sheets and work orders to track parts usage
  • Utilize FIXX MMS system to maintain accurate and up-to-date maintenance records
  • Assist with rail car moving and other terminal operations as needed
  • Any other Duties assigned by the Terminal Manager

Scale House:

  • General Housekeeping (i.e. sweep, mop, dust, clean restroom, and take out trash)
  • Answer Phones
  • Communicate with drivers via CB radio
  • Data Entry from scaled truck weight
  • Load sand trucks using the via automation system
  • Communicate with other employees via radios system
  • Obtain driver signature on paperwork and place in appropriate files.

Silo Loader:

  • Operate loader to load sand into hopper and inside warehouse
  • Must be alert and aware of surrounding (ie. turning head looking out all windows and verifying the direction being travelled)
  • Control sand inventory in silos by communicating with the scale house.
  • Check to ensure that contamination of sand props is minimized.

Railcar unloader/conductor:

  • Open and close pit doors
  • Verify with Engineers that all switches line up before moving.
  • Communicate with Engineers via Radio
  • Count cars and help perform all switches
  • Check all cars to understand to know where to make the separations
  • Lace hoses when coupling and pull pin releases when uncoupling
  • Set hand brakes by climbing up a 2-step ladder and turn the brake wheel
  • Use pneumatic opener to open and close cars.
  • Record the information from railcar on list “car number ”
  • Once a hopper, is empty spot the next hopper while communicating to engineer

  • Able to complete all required paperwork legibly, accurately, and on time
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills; able to work effectively with team members and third-party personnel
  • Must be available to work weekends, overtime, and holidays. May work irregular schedule based on operational needs
Physical Demands
  • The physical demands below are representative of those required to successfully perform the essential functions of this role.
  • Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, squat, and crawl to perform maintenance tasks
  • Lift and carry up to 50 lbs. of tools and equipment unassisted
  • Ascend and descend ladders, stairs, rail cars, and other equipment up to 90 feet in height
  • Navigate terminal grounds including areas with heavy equipment and loose rock
  • Frequently reach overhead and work above shoulder level
  • Work outdoors and be subject to varying weather conditions, including extreme heat and cold
