The role requires hands-on technical work, adherence to safety standards, and the ability to troubleshoot and repair a range of systems.

The position is full-time with overtime eligibility and room for career growth within the Justice & Public Safety

Qualifications

Two years of experience in the maintenance or repair of HVAC, refrigeration, ventilation, or electrical systems.
Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE: Formal training in one of the above or related fields will substitute for the experience on a year-for-year basis.
Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION: NONE
Must be 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

Performs duties related to the maintenance and operations of equipment in a Department of Juvenile Justice (DJJ) facility.
Installs, repairs and maintains air conditioning, heating, refrigeration, ventilation, electrical systems and other associated equipment.
Repairs and maintains electrical, plumbing and sewerage operations.
Keeps basic records of work activities and provides technical assistance.
Inspects and checks for the working performance of equipment according to specifications.
Performs checks and tests on mechanical equipment.
