Job summary

The State of North Carolina Department of Transportation is seeking an Engineering Supervisor I (NS) to lead the Maintenance Operations Support Team (MOST). The role focuses on planning, coordinating resurfacing projects, and developing cost estimates for maintenance and construction operations across Division One.

Responsibilities include supervising personnel, managing safety programs, and communicating with local governments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering with two years of progressively responsible experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• May require registration as a professional engineer by the NC Board of Examiners for Engineers and Surveyors.

Responsibilities

• Plan and manage the Maintenance Operations Support Team (MOST) activities.
• Coordinate with County Maintenance Engineers and Project Development staff on resurfacing and pavement preservation projects.
• Develop HMIP/RMIP plans and compile cost estimates for operations and contractor activities.
• supervise safety and training, review invoices, and ensure compliance with state purchasing guidelines.
