The Oregon Military Department is a state agency that supports the Oregon National Guard. You are NOT required to be a member of the Oregon National Guard to apply for this position. The Oregon Military Department is recruiting a Maintenance Operations Supervisor. This is a permanent full-time state position located in Springfield, Oregon. This position may be located in Salem but will require travel throughout the geographic region assigned. This position is represented by the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees’ (AFSCME) union. NOTE: This recruitment announcement will be used to establish a list of qualified candidates to fill the current vacancy and may be used to fill future vacancies as they occur. Coordinate and oversee Facility Maintenance and Facility Operations Specialist employees in Maintenance Regions 4, 5, & 6 for OMD-owned facilities and Readiness Centers. Work is performed inside and outside of State buildings and on owned or leased property in support of the Oregon Army National Guard and the O&M Branch of the OMD. Work is executed in accordance with State and Federal Laws, regulations, policies, manuals and procedures, and in accordance with existing codes.
Exposed to loud noises; works from ladders and various types of lifting devises from heights. Exposed to unsanitary conditions. Use cleaning chemicals several times monthly. Works in windy, cold, hot or inclement weather. Uses power tools; required to push, pull, and lift up to 90 lbs. May be required to travel using a State vehicle or Military Aircraft. Performs tasks in Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required. Return to work in case of emergencies or to meet project requirements and short suspense’s. Required to bend, stoop, and stand for long periods of time.
Three (3) years of journey-level trade experience maintaining and repairing buildings physical plant facilities or grounds; and one additional year as a trades or maintenance supervisor.
Must possess and maintain a valid drivers license and acceptable driving record. (This position requires extensive travel within the geographic boundaries of the assigned maintenance regions as wells as frequent statewide travel, while performing duties at the National Guard Facilities throughout the state).
This position requires an LME or equivalent license.
