Job summary

PQ, a global supplier of silicates and silicas, seeks an experienced maintenance technician to maintain and repair equipment, buildings and facilities at our Gurnee, IL multi-plant site. You will perform mechanical and electrical repairs, install machinery, fabricate structures, and support safe, efficient operations.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma and at least 3 years of industrial plant maintenance experience, with strong mechanical and electrical aptitude and a commitment to PQ's

Qualifications

• Mechanical and electrical aptitude required.
• Industrial plant maintenance experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for maintenance repair and preventive maintenance of equipment, buildings and facilities at a multi-plant site.
• Performs mechanical and electrical repair of equipment used in operations.
• Installs machinery, pipes, structural steel, etc. at a multi-plant operation.
• Fabricates stairways, catwalks, structures, etc. at a multi-plant site.
• Maintains inventory using storeroom withdrawal slips.
• Ensures compliance with health, safety and environmental rules and regulations.
• Demonstrates commitment to Responsible Care in daily activities.

Responsible for the efficient, cost effective maintenance repair and preventive maintenance of all equipment, buildings and facilities at a multi-plant site.

• Performs mechanical and electrical repair of all equipment associated with operations.
• Installs machinery, pipes, structural steel, etc. at a multi-plant operation.
• Fabricates stairways, catwalks, structures, etc. at a multi-plant site.
• Helps maintain correct stockroom inventory by utilizing storeroom withdraw slips.
• Maintains positive attitude toward maximizing plant’s success.
• Receives and carries out directions accurately and efficiently.
• Operates in compliance with all health, safety and environmental rules and regulations.
• Complies with all corporate/plant policies and procedures.
• Demonstrates commitment to Responsible Care® in every day activities.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent education.
• 3 years of maintenance experience in an industrial plant setting.
