Job summary

Westlake Pipe & Fittings in Canada is seeking a Millwright to troubleshoot, maintain and upgrade production lines. The role requires reading blueprints, performing preventive maintenance, and coordinating with the Maintenance Supervisor. A 433A Millwright certificate is required, with 442A Electrician as an asset.

• 433A Millwright certificate required.
• 442A Electrician is an asset.
• PLC programming experience is an asset.
• Prior diagnostic, troubleshooting and preventive maintenance experience preferred.
• Ability to read manufacturers' specifications and schematics.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and provide preventative and corrective maintenance to production lines.
• Overhaul and install new equipment.
• Perform facility maintenance and keep the area clean and safe.
• Ensure PMs are completed in a timely manner and documented.
• Report work performed and time spent to Maintenance Supervisor.
• Generate parts requests to maintain inventory.
• Create and complete work orders as assigned.
• Perform equipment changeovers and production line set-ups.
• Read blueprints and schematic drawings.
• Operate grinders, saws, lathes and milling machines for parts or repairs.
• Follow all company safety policies.
• Maintain basic computer maintenance management system records.

Fittings, currently has one (1) position available for an Millwright Wage $45.56 per hour

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• Troubleshooting and providing immediate preventative and corrective maintenance support to production lines and facilitating change-over.
• Overhaul and install new equipment.
• Perform facility maintenance and maintain clean and safe work area
• Ensure that PMs are completed in a timely manner and documented accordingly
• Report on work performed and time spent to Maintenance Supervisor
• Generate parts request to ensure adequate inventory
• Generate and complete work orders as assigned
• Perform equipment change-overs and production line set ups.
• Reads blueprints and schematic drawings
• Strong trouble-shooting skills of hydraulic and pneumatic components
• Work with a wide array of precision tools, such as Vernier Calipers, micrometers, dial indicators, gauge blocks, OD tapes
• Work with other trades’ groups and contractors to complete project assignments
• Operates grinder, saw, lathe and milling machines to make customized parts or repairs.
• Fabricates custom parts, fixtures and guarding by means of arc welding, grinding, oxyacetylene cutting.
• Assembles and installs machinery and equipment.
• Follow all company safety policies.
• MS Office, and computer Maintenance management software

• Coverage in the Pipe Plant
• All other relevant duties as assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

• 433A Millwright certificate is required
• 442A Electrician an asset
• PLC programming experience is an asset
• Prior diagnostic /troubleshooting and preventative maintenance experience preferred
• Demonstrated mechanical and technical aptitude
• Ability to follow manufacturers specifications and schematics
• Ability to work on weekends
• Ability to work other shifts and overtime
