Job summary

Turner Industries Group is seeking a Journeyman Millwright for maintenance at a facility in Houston, TX. This non-exempt role reports to the Supervisor and requires a strong background in installing, repairing, and aligning large rotating equipment.

Ideal candidates have a minimum of 5 years as a Maintenance Millwright, experience with centrifugal pumps, troubleshooting, seal changes, and pump motor alignment. NCCER Plus is highly preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years as a Maintenance Millwright.
• Experience with centrifugal pumps, troubleshooting, rebuilding, seal changes and pump-motor alignment.
• Background check and drug test required.

Responsibilities

• Install and maintain machinery according to blueprints and instructions.
• Dismantle, move, assemble and align equipment such as pumps, conveyors, compressors and turbines.
• Read schematics, service rotating equipment, and perform lubrication and minor repairs.
• Lead job activities and ensure adherence to safety policies.

Non-exempt role; Reports to the Supervisor; Performs a variety of routine duties within established policies. Qualified candidates should submit a resume or walk in at our Pasadena Personnel office.

No Per Diem, ideal for candidates local to the area

• Must be available to work overtime and call-outs as needed, 5/8's work schedule; subject to change
• NCCER Plus HIGHLY PREFERRED
• Previous experience as a Maintenance Millwright with a minimum of 5 years of experience required; must have experience working with centrifugal pumps, troubleshooting, rebuilding, seal changes, and pump motor alignment. Overall ability to lead the job in repair and replacement of large complex rotating equipment.
• Background check and drug test required

General Job Description:

Installs and/or maintain machinery and equipment according to layout plans, blueprints, drawings, and written instructions in industrial establishments.

Functional Requirements:

Reads blueprints and schematic drawings to determine work procedures; dismantles machines; moves machinery and equipment; assembles and installs equipment, such as shafting, conveyors, pumps, compressors, extruders, turbines and blowers; aligns machines and equipment using reverse alignment method; assembles machines and bolts, welds, rivets or otherwise fastens them to foundation or other structures; may operate engine lathe to grind, file and turn machine parts to dimensional specifications; may repair and lubricate machines and equipment; may be involved in the grouting activity for equipment base plates; remove plant equipment, disassemble, repair and reinstall.

Tools/Equipment:

Employee may be required to provide the following: tool box, combination wrench set, crescent wrench, combination square, socket wrench, allen wrench set, T-handle allen wrenches, Phillips screwdriver, screwdriver, micrometer, precision level, channel lock, dial indicator chains, hammer, ball pein hammer, snap ring pliers, rain suit.
