PPG Industries is seeking an Electrician/Maintenance Technician for the 2nd shift in Cleveland, OH. The role performs maintenance, repairs, construction, and installation of electrical systems and equipment to ensure safe, reliable operation.

Responsibilities include routine maintenance, diagnostics, preventive maintenance, and adherence to safety standards. Experience with high voltage, PLCs, VFDs is desired and forklift operation is required.

Qualifications

• 3 years of experience as industrial electrical maintenance technician in manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
• Ability to read and interpret technical documents and schematics.

• Maintain accurate maintenance records and report on equipment status.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
• Assist in the installation and commissioning of new equipment.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability and efficiency.
• Support continuous improvement efforts in facilities repairs.
• Operate material handling equipment including forklift, scissor lift, and Skytrax safely and efficiently.
• Demonstrate strong troubleshooting skills.
• Perform general facilities maintenance work.
• Communicate effectively with production team members and maintain clean work areas, including the maintenance shop.
• Ensure a safe work environment by following PPE and lock-out tag out procedures.

Starting Pay $39.28 + .70 Shift Premium

Electrician/Maintenance will work on repairing, constructing, installing, and maintaining electrical systems and equipment.

Qualifications

• Required 3 years of experience as an industrial electrical maintenance technician in a manufacturing environment. Journeyman Electrical Certification a plus, not required.
• Strong knowledge of electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
• Proficient in using diagnostic tools and equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret technical documents and blueprints.
• Excellent problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
• Good communication skills.
• Willingness to work overtime if required.
• Experience operating forklift, scissor lift, and Skytrax safely and efficiently.
• PLC experience is desired.
• Experience with VFD’s installation and setup is desired.
• Demonstrated sense of urgency in completing tasks.
• Experience working around high voltage a must
