Job summary

Georgia-Pacific is hiring a Maintenance Millwright for our Albany, GA Lumber facility. This role focuses on reliability and maintenance of heavy machinery, preventive and corrective work, and safety adherence to company policies.

The position requires 2+ years in industrial maintenance and experience with bearings, chains, sprockets, gearboxes, hydraulics, and CMMS to track work orders and parts. Applicants should be prepared for varied shifts and overtime.

Qualifications

• Two (2) years or more of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing, production, or military environment.
• Experience troubleshooting bearings, chains, sprockets, gearboxes, and conveyors.
• Experience with precision maintenance and instrumentation.

Responsibilities

Maintenance Millwright - Albany, GA Lumber

Georgia-Pacific is having for Millwright to join our Lumber facility in Albany, GA!

• Our starting pay is at $28-$38/hr. depending on experience.
• You will have the ability to increase your compensation based on skills and contribution to the overall performance of the mill.

Shift:

• Only candidates who are flexible and available to work any shift will be considered. This will include overtime, holidays, and weekends as needed.
• 12-hour Day Shift: 6AM - 6PM
• The week of orientation will be 10:00am to 5:00pm on Monday and 8:00am to 5:00pm Tuesday through Friday. Regular shift will be assigned after orientation.

• Performing a variety of reliability and maintenance tasks on heavy machinery in a manufacturing environment
• Performing preventive and corrective maintenance in accordance with the facility’s preventative maintenance schedule

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

• Two (2) years or more of industrial maintenance experience within a manufacturing, production, or military environment
• Experience troubleshooting issues with bearings, chains, sprockets, gearboxes, and conveyors
• Experience with precision maintenance and instrumentation

What Will Put You Ahead

• Experience with fabrication and welding
• Experience troubleshooting and repairing hydraulics & pneumatics systems and reading hydraulic schematics.
• Experience using a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
• Experience with blueprint reading
• Experience with condition-based monitoring to include vibration analysis, lubrication, ultrasound, thermography, etc.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physically demanding tasks including climbing ladders and working at heights or in confined spaces.
• Ability to work in a sawmill environment with dust, noise, heat, and cold conditions.
