Job summary

Washington Mills is hiring a Maintenance Millwright in Illinois. The role is full-time, hourly, with a 2nd shift (3PM-11PM, Mon-Fri). Pay is $31.95 per hour after a 180-day probationary period.

Responsibilities include repair and maintenance of plant equipment, safety oversight, and supporting the plant’s operations. The position requires teamwork, strong communication, and completion of specified courses in blueprint reading and welding.

Qualifications

• Be capable of collaborating effectively within a team and independently without direct supervision.
• Maintain an open line of communication with Supervisors and Plant Management.
• Provide evidence of completion of Mechanical Blueprint Reading, Stick Welding, Tig Welding, and Gas Weld & Brazing courses.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safety standards are met and provide safety support for the team, contractors, and visitors.
• Support ongoing communication within the department and plant organization.
• Repair, service, overhaul and install plant equipment and machinery including conveyors, crushers, heat exchangers, belts and drives.
• Fabricate and maintain metal equipment, guards, ducts, and attachments for heavy equipment.

What You’ll Do

• Ensure safety standards are met and when needed provide direct safety support for their team, contractors, and visitors
• Offer support for ongoing communication and assistance as needed within the department and plant organization
• Perform plant machine and equipment repair, mechanical adjustment, servicing, overhaul and installation of plant equipment and machinery. This includes but is not limited to conveyors, crushers, heat exchangers, belts and drives, pneumatics & hydraulic units
• Fabrication, installation, and maintenance of metal equipment including guards, covers, ducts, chutes, and attachments for heavy mobile equipment such as loader and excavator buckets

• Gas Weld & Brazing - Flat & Horizontal Welding
