Insteel Industries is seeking a Maintenance Mechanical Technician for the Gallatin, TN facility. This night shift runs Thursday through Sunday, 7:00 PM–7:00 AM, with occasional overtime and a $2 per hour weekend premium.

The role focuses on troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining machinery, including hydraulic and pneumatic systems, welding, and cutting torch operations. A strong math foundation and a stable work history are important.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical training is a plus.
• At least 3 years of experience as an industrial maintenance technician.
• Ability to complete forms and understand written instructions.
• Proficiency in basic math including decimals and fractions.
• Demonstrated stable employment history.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, dismantle, repair, and reassemble machinery and production equipment.
• Assist with preventative maintenance of machines.

Maintenance Mechanical Technician – Night Shift Weekends

Schedule: Thursday – Sunday night shift, 7:00 PM–7:00 AM. Occasional additional overtime as needed. Shift premium: $2.00 per hour for working the weekend schedule.

Overview: At Insteel, we strive to be the nation’s supplier of choice for steel wire reinforcing products used in concrete construction applications. We support bridges, roads, and infrastructure. This role is located in our facility in Gallatin, TN.

Responsibilities

• Always wear personal protective equipment, such as gloves, cut‑resistant sleeves, safety glasses, and safety‑toe shoes.
• Be inquisitive, ask questions, and be willing to learn new things.
• Maintain good attendance.
• Be willing to get hands dirty.
• Troubleshoot, dismantle, repair, and reassemble machinery and production equipment.
• Assist team members with preventative maintenance of machines.
• Repair hydraulic and pneumatic equipment.
• Operate cutting torch and welding equipment.
• Have basic math skills and the ability to measure lengths, diameters, weights, and counts.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical training is a plus.
• At least 3 years of previous work experience as an industrial maintenance technician.
• Ability to complete forms and understand written instructions.
• Proficiency in basic math skills involving addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, and decimals.
• Demonstrated stable employment history.
