Ahlstrom invites qualified Mechanical Engineering students to join our Rhinelander, Wisconsin plant for the Summer of 2027 as a Maintenance Mechanical Engineering Intern. You will aid in day-to-day troubleshooting of process/reliability problems and assist with maintenance activities in a paper manufacturing environment.

This paid internship offers hands-on experience, housing support options, and a collaborative, fast-paced team atmosphere focused on safety, quality, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in Mechanical Engineering or related degree program.
• Willing to relocate to Rhinelander, WI for Summer 2027.

Responsibilities

• Review, develop and implement preventive maintenance processes to reduce downtime.
• Work with plant teams to plan daily/weekly shutdown work.
• Assist with capital and maintenance projects and document equipment history.
• Provide maintenance coverage for outages and support start-ups.
