Maintenance Mechanical

Shift: 2nd or 3rd Shift
Pay Rate: $39.79/hr
The Harley-Davidson Motor Company Vehicle Operations facility in York is our final assembly plant. Employees at York also perform a variety of manufacturing operations, including fabrication, welding, polishing and painting and produce a wide range of current and replacement parts for all models. Prerequisites
- Journeyperson Card (related to the job opening) and/or Seven years of applicable experience as a qualified machine repair person, toolmaker, or machine tool builder in troubleshooting, machine repair, tool making, machine building, hydraulics, pneumatics, and mechanical systems.
- High School Diploma/GED Required.
- Basic understanding of electricity and electrical systems.
- Ability to read and utilize prints of machine assembly, layouts, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
- Experience in performing basic machine alignment using precision instruments in either metric or English measurement systems.
- Understanding of tool room equipment, operations associated with drilling, milling, surface grinding, and lathe operations.
- Experience in maintaining mechanical drives, presses, and basic welding.
- Basic understanding of PCs and basic PC skills.
- Good verbal communication skills.
- Proven self-starter with a willingness to work in a team environment.
Job Duties
- Support the production operation by providing immediate response to all breakdowns to minimize equipment downtime and follow all escalation processes as defined.
- Perform production tasks as necessary or required by the situation.
- Troubleshoot and perform all required mechanical maintenance on automated equipment.
- Perform lubrication tasks as necessary.
- Perform welding repairs as necessary.
- Understand Mechanical and Hydraulic Presses.
- Understand Laser cutting equipment.
- Understand ovens and burner controls.
- Insure machine availability goals are met by participating in and organizing Root Cause Analysis activities to improve equipment up-time.
- Assist in training employees in production roles to perform simple maintenance tasks as associated with TPM.
- Understand Predictive Maintenance technologies and participate in their utilization as necessary.
- Wear communication device as deemed necessary.
- Actively participate in any Skills Training Program required.
- Lockout equipment to be maintained and follow all safety practices and procedures.
- Wear all required PPE for the task being performed.
- Perform routine Preventive Maintenance (PM) activities.
- Utilize the CMMS to record and track work activities including time keeping, historical equipment repairs, and work order/PM closures.
- Operate necessary material handling equipment to transport supplies to job and to make installations and repairs.
- Perform routine and customary material handling and housekeeping associated with the job.
- Instruct helper or apprentice and act as leader on jobs as required.
- Work eight hours or more and work mandated overtime as required under the guidelines of the current Labor Agreement.
