Job summary

Harley-Davidson Motor Company is seeking a Millwright at our Powertrain Operations facility in Menomonee Falls, WI. The role supports production by maintaining engines and transmissions, performing preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting equipment to minimize downtime.

Candidates should have a journeyman card or 5+ years in the trade, HS diploma, and welding skills. This full-time position works on 2nd/3rd shifts with competitive hourly pay.

Qualifications

  • Journeyperson's Card or five years of Millwright experience required.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Knowledge of heat treat equipment, furnaces, gas generators, gas burners and heat treat transfer equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and repair chip conveyors, gear boxes and pumps.
  • Welding to MIG, TIG and STICK; brazing and soldering as needed.
  • Install, assemble, maintain and repair mechanical piping systems.
  • Maintain air handling equipment and ventilation systems.
  • Use MS Office and CMMS for data logging and work orders.
  • Interpret machine layout prints for pneumatic and air systems.
  • Operate drills, grinders, brakes and shears on fabrication components.

Responsibilities

  • Support production by providing immediate response to breakdowns to minimize downtime.
  • Troubleshoot and perform maintenance in the assigned area.
  • Perform welding repairs as necessary.
  • Contribute to machine availability by Root Cause Analysis to reduce downtime.
  • Assist in training employees in basic maintenance tasks per TPM.
  • Perform routine Preventive Maintenance (PM) activities.

Our Powertrain Operations facility, located on Pilgrim Road in Menomonee Falls, WI, is where the "jewel" of the motorcycle comes to life. Pilgrim Road employees produce engines and transmissions for the final assembly plant in York, Pennsylvania, as well as transmissions, and replacement parts for sale through Harley-Davidson Genuine Motor Parts and Accessories business. Requirements
  • Journey-level status or five years of verifiable experience required. Qualified applicants must have the ability to perform the essential functions of the job. Must have basic computer skills for data logging, work order management and communications. They must also possess the necessary interpersonal skills to work in a team environment.
  • Candidates must have a Journeyperson's Card or five years of applicable experience as a Millwright or equivalent trade.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • A working knowledge of heat treat equipment, furnaces, RX gas generators, gas burners and heat treat transfer equipment.
  • Able to troubleshoot and repair chip conveyors, gear boxes and pumps.
  • Performs repairs on conveyors, guarding and performs/install sheet metal work.
  • Proficient in welding, Mig, Tig and Stick, Brazing, Soldering etc.
  • Install, assemble, fabricate, maintain, and repair mechanical process piping systems.
  • Maintain air handling equipment i.e. vacuum systems and ventilation systems.
  • Utilizing Microsoft Office and computerized Maintenance Management system, or equivalent program.
  • Interpreting prints of machine layouts for pneumatic and air systems.
  • Operating equipment such as drills, grinders, brakes and shears to modify or repair fabricated components from steel, aluminum, plastic, and wood.
  • Perform routine Preventive Maintenance (PM) activities.
Responsibilities
  • Support the production operation by providing immediate response to all breakdowns to minimize equipment downtime and follow all escalation processes as defined.
  • Troubleshoot and perform all required maintenance in your assigned area.
  • Perform various tasks including welding repairs as necessary.
  • Ensure machine availability goals are met by participating in and organizing Root Cause Analysis activities to improve equipment up-time.
  • Assists in training employees in production roles to perform simple maintenance tasks as associated with TPM.
  • Perform routine Preventive Maintenance (PM) activities.
