Job summary

Basalite Building Products, LLC seeks a skilled maintenance technician to support plant operations. Qualifications

• High School education or equivalent
• 5+ years experience in welding and machinery maintenance
• On-the-job training required to perform duties
• Able to weld with stick or MiG welders and run oxy/act torch
• Basic reading, writing and math skills
• Able to communicate with peers, customers and superiors
• Operate block machine, cuber, loader, unloader, BECO, forklift and related equipment
• Good fabrication skills
• Some PLC and VFD knowledge
• Strong problem solving and mechanical/electrical/hydraulic/pneumatic troubleshooting skills
• Familiar with conveyor components and heavy equipment

Responsibilities

• Performs daily PMs and repairs on all equipment.
• Performs installation of all new equipment.
• Determine parts needed for repairs.
• Communicate daily needs with operators and management.
• Fill out reports of problems or parts ordering.
• Operate band saws, drill presses, grinders and other shop tools.
• Troubleshoot plant machinery issues.
• Repair molds and use proper setup procedures.
• Replace or repair bearings and related parts.
• Make minor wiring repairs.
• Create fabrications from drawings.
• Work in precarious, high locations and enclosed areas.
• Weld in various positions and joints.
• Replace equipment parts with proper instructions and tools.
• Start or jog equipment to perform maintenance tasks.
• Order minor parts.
• Collaborate with operators and supervisors to solve machinery problems.
• Maintain safety compliance and attend safety meetings.
• Maintain regular attendance.
