Job summary

Menasha Corporation is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic to maintain and repair production equipment in a Manufacturing/Food Environment. Shift: Weekend Friday - Sunday 5:00am-5:30pm.

Responsibilities include preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and coordinating with departments to minimize downtime while ensuring safety and quality. A High School Diploma or equivalent is desired, with ability to read blueprints and operate measuring tools. Overtime and rotating shifts may be required.

  • Ability to read blueprints, electrical schematics, and manuals.
  • Strong math, reading, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive maintenance on production equipment.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical issues to sustain productivity and quality.
  • Maintain and manage equipment inventories and parts.
  • Ensure safety policies and proper PPE use at all times.

About The Opportunity

The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for maintaining and repairing existing production equipment in a Manufacturing/Food Environment.

Shift:
Weekend Friday - Sunday 5:00am-5:30pm

Essential Functions:
  • Ensure optimum operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements of all equipment.
  • Troubleshoot any issues of mechanical devices, correct issues as necessary to maintain productivity and/or quality standards
  • Control downtime by communicating with all departments
  • Determine changes in dimensional requirements of parts, fabricate parts when needed, adjust functional parts of devices and control instruments
  • Maintain equipment, parts and supplies inventories; conserve resources when able
  • Responsible for facility maintenance
  • Prepare maintenance reports, document and communicate actions, irregularities and continuing needs
  • Work in a safe and efficient manner using all personal protective, safety equipment, and devices that are required, and comply with company safety policies and procedures
  • Be actively involved in Continuous Improvement
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management/supervisors

Education/Certification:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent - Desired
Additional Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Safety sensitive position – ability to work in a constant state of alertness and a safe manner
  • Ability to work overtime and weekends as required based upon the needs of the business
  • Ability to work on a rotating shift as needed
    Ability to effectively work in teams
  • Ability to work in a production-based environment with moving equipment and people
  • Ability to interact and communicate effectively with a wide variety of roles
  • Must have basic math, reading, and communication skills
  • Ability to read, comprehend and, where necessary, complete: blueprints, electrical schematics, operating and maintenance manuals, work orders, repair parts request
  • Ability to use measuring equipment such as micrometer, caliper, scale, VOM (Volt/Ohm Meter), standard and metric tape measure
  • Advanced knowledge of machine operations and mechanical functions
  • Ability to disassemble, repair, and troubleshoot plant machines
  • Ability to overhaul, rebuild and troubleshoot plant machines
  • Ability to make simple parts or equipment and tools
  • Ability to perform all computer functions as they pertain to the job

The expected salary range for this position is $30-$36/hour. This role is also eligible for an annual incentive plan and for a full benefits package including medical, dental, and vision insurance; basic term life, AD&D, Short- and Long-term disability; EAP; 401(k) retirement savings plan; PTO and paid holidays.
