Job summary

Menasha Packaging Company, LLC is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic to maintain and repair production equipment in a Manufacturing/Food Environment. Shifts include 1st, 2nd, and weekend schedules with potential overtime and weekend work.

You will perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot issues, and support continuous improvement initiatives while adhering to safety policies and production standards.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Ensure optimum operation of machinery and equipment by performing preventive maintenance.
• Troubleshoot mechanical issues and correct them to maintain productivity and quality.
• Control downtime by coordinating with other departments.
• Measure and adjust parts using gauges and measurement tools as needed.
• Maintain equipment inventory and assist with parts and supplies management.
• Prepare maintenance reports and document actions and needs.
• Work safely and follow company safety policies and procedures.
• Participate in Continuous Improvement efforts.

About The Opportunity

The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for maintaining and repairing existing production equipment in a Manufacturing/Food Environment.

Shifts:
1st Shift Monday - Thursday 6:00am - 4:30pm
2nd Shift Monday - Thursday 4:00pm - 2:30am
Weekend Friday - Sunday 5:00am-5:30pm

Essential Functions:

• Ensure optimum operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements of all equipment.
• Troubleshoot any issues of mechanical devices, correct issues as necessary to maintain productivity and/or quality standards
• Control downtime by communicating with all departments
• Determine changes in dimensional requirements of parts, fabricate parts when needed, adjust functional parts of devices and control instruments
• Maintain equipment, parts and supplies inventories; conserve resources when able
• Responsible for facility maintenance
• Prepare maintenance reports, document and communicate actions, irregularities and continuing needs
• Work in a safe and efficient manner using all personal protective, safety equipment, and devices that are required, and comply with company safety policies and procedures
• Be actively involved in Continuous Improvement
• Perform other duties as assigned by management/supervisors

Education/Certification:

• High School Diploma or equivalent - Desired

Additional Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Safety sensitive position – ability to work in a constant state of alertness and a safe manner
• Ability to work overtime and weekends as required based upon the needs of the business
• Ability to work on a rotating shift as needed
• Ability to effectively work in teams
• Ability to work in a production-based environment with moving equipment and people
• Ability to interact and communicate effectively with a wide variety of roles
• Must have basic math, reading, and communication skills
• Ability to read, comprehend and, where necessary, complete: blueprints, electrical schematics, operating and maintenance manuals, work orders, repair parts request
• Ability to use measuring equipment such as micrometer, caliper, scale, VOM (Volt/Ohm Meter), standard and metric tape measure
• Advanced knowledge of machine operations and mechanical functions
• Ability to disassemble, repair, and troubleshoot plant machines
• Ability to overhaul, rebuild and troubleshoot plant machines
• Ability to make simple parts or equipment and tools
• Ability to perform all computer functions as they pertain to the job

Salary and Benefits:

The expected salary range for this position is $30-$36/hour. This role is also eligible for an annual incentive plan and for a full benefits package.
