Prestressed Concrete Construction, LLC in Newton, KS is seeking a Mechanic to join our maintenance team. You will service trailers, yard trucks, and other equipment essential to our precast/prestressed and hollowcore concrete production facility, ensuring reliability and safety.

The role requires hands-on mechanical skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to equipment care to minimize downtime and maintain production flow.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in mechanical work or vehicle maintenance preferred, but on-the-job training will be provided.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with ability to diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform regular maintenance, repairs, and inspections on trailers, yard trucks, and equipment used in concrete production, including tires, engines, and mechanical systems.
• Conduct oil changes, fluid checks, tire rotations, and other routine maintenance tasks.
• Troubleshoot mechanical issues and complete repairs to ensure safe operation of machinery and vehicles.
• Maintain and organize a well-equipped maintenance shop with tools and supplies for repair tasks.
• Coordinate with production teams to ensure equipment availability for production schedules.
• Follow safety guidelines to maintain a safe work environment and document maintenance activities.
