Job summary

Midwest Concrete Materials in Kansas is seeking an experienced mechanic to perform troubleshooting and repair on Automotive, HD Truck, Ready Mix, Mining and Construction equipment. The role includes working with gas and diesel engines, fuel and electrical systems, transmissions, brakes and preventive maintenance while following safety rules and contributing to a stable, long‑standing team.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of hands-on mechanical equipment repair experience, a graduate of vocational diesel courses, or related experience.
• Necessary tools to perform position responsibilities.
• Must be able to follow instructions in verbal and/or written form
• Computer and electronic diagnostic experience.
• CDL preferred.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and perform skilled mechanical work on Automotive, HD Truck, Ready Mix, Mining, Construction equipment.
• Repair gas and diesel engines and fuel systems.
• Work on electrical, air, hydraulic systems, transmissions, cooling systems, chassis, and brakes.
• Perform general maintenance such as tire repair and cleaning.
• Work with minimal supervision.
• Maintain neat and orderly work area and handle company tools properly.
• Interact with Shop Foreman and other mechanics to complete work.
• Follow safe work practices and comply with OSHA/MSHA/DOT/FMCSA rules.
• Stay current with new technology through training.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Performstroubleshooting and skilled mechanical work on Automotive, HD Truck, Ready Mix,Mining, Construction, Supporting Equipment, and related components, including:
  • gas and diesel engines, fuel systems
  • electrical, air, hydraulic systems
  • transmissions
  • cooling systems
  • chassis
  • brakes
  • general maintenance(tire repair, cleaning)
• Workson equipment with minimal supervision
• Maintainsa neat and orderly work area and demonstrate proper handling of company tools
• Interacts with Shop Foreman and other mechanics/service personnel as necessary to complete work
• Followssafe work practices and procedures, usingsafety equipment, following Company, OSHA, MSHA and DOT/FMCSA rules andregulations in repair and maintenance of equipment
• Stays abreast of new technology by participatingin training and meetings
• Performsother duties as assigned by supervisor orother members of management

QUALIFICATIONS

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Ability to climb stairs and ladders, reach, squat, push, and pull objects.
• Ability to regularly lift 50 pounds and occasionally lift up to 100 pounds.
• Ability to tolerate working outdoors in all temperatures and weather.
• Ability to lift objects of various dimensions and weights.
