Job summary

U-Haul is seeking a Facility Maintenance Mechanic to perform a variety of maintenance and repair duties so that the assembly plant can maintain its high standards of quality. You will handle basic electrical, plumbing, and carpentry tasks, control tools, change oils in vehicles, and manage supplies and budget.

The role requires passing a drug screen and background check, with a work environment that involves safety precautions around moving parts and chemicals, including possible protective gear

Facility Maintenance Mechanic Primary Responsibilities:

• Daily attendance critical to plant success
• Able to pass drug screen and background check
• Perform basic electrical, plumbing, and carpentry duties
• Control tool inventory
• Change oil in cars, forklifts, and hydraulics
• Order supplies
• Manage budget

Maintenance Mechanic Minimum Qualifications:

• Advanced knowledge of pneumatic tools
• Computer expertise
• Driver's license and ability to maintain a clean record

Work Environment:
The work involves moderate risks or discomforts which require special safety precautions, e.g. working around moving parts, machines, fumes, or irritant chemicals. May be required to use protective clothing, or gear such as masks, goggles, gloves, or shields.

Physical Demands:
The work requires some physical exertion such as long periods both indoors and outdoors of remaining stationary, traversing spaces, repositioning to reach and use tools, and moving a minimum of 50 lbs assisted or unassisted.
