POSITION SPECIFICS
Summer 2026 employment – Office Physical Plant, Penn State University.
• 40 hours per week (Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM start time).
• Available trades: Electrical, Refrigeration/Plumbing, Heating & Ventilation.
• Starting rate: $18.00 per hour.

PRE-REQUISITE To be considered for employment, please submit a cover letter stating your area of interest in addition to your resume.

Electrical Trade Duties

• Assist with installation of new power and lighting circuits, LED lamp conversions, door security hardware, minor fire alarm upgrades, and other electrical and electronic tasks.
• Assist with general maintenance and troubleshooting on electrical and electronic circuits.
• Assist other technicians with dispatch calls and urgent electrical repairs.
• Report extensive repairs needed to the supervisor.

Refrigeration/Plumbing Duties

• Assist with preventative maintenance of commercial refrigeration and cooling systems/equipment.
• Assist other technicians with dispatch calls for cooling systems.
• Assist with the service and repair of, but not limited to, heat pumps, compressors, ice machines, laboratory equipment, condensers, evaporators, and associated controls.
• Report extensive repairs needed to the supervisor.

Heating & Ventilation Duties

• Assist with general maintenance and repairs to RTUs, AHUs, VAVs, etc.
• Assist with preventative maintenance of heating and ventilation systems.
• Assist other technicians with building automation systems (BAS).
• Assist other technicians with HVAC needs.
• Report extensive repairs needed to the supervisor.
