Job summary

The Southern Nevada Regional Housing Authority is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic in Las Vegas, NV to maintain facilities, repair equipment, and respond to resident maintenance requests. The role covers carpentry, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, refrigeration, and related trades.

You must have a high school diploma or GED, 3 years of relevant experience, HVAC certification, OSHA 10 (OSHA 30 preferred), a Nevada driver’s license, and strong communication and organizational skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Three (3) years of relevant experience in residential building and/or facilities maintenance.
• Demonstrated hands-on experience in carpentry, plumbing, electrical, refrigeration, heating, and cooling.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, crisis management, time management, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair Housing Authority facilities, equipment, and buildings by performing a variety of skilled carpentry, electrical, plumbing, heating, air conditioning, and related maintenance and mechanical repair work.
• Install, maintain, repair, replace, troubleshoot, and diagnose gas and electric heating systems, air conditioning and refrigeration systems, components, and parts; ensure safe operation per codes and standards.
• Install, maintain, repair evaporative cooling systems and related components; perform preventative maintenance per codes and standards.
• Install, maintain, repair, and replace plumbing systems, fixtures, and components on all types of pipe and fittings.
• Install, maintain, repair, and replace electrical systems and components, including wiring, fixtures, and control systems.
• Perform complete carpentry duties including installation, remodeling and repair of facility components and fixtures.
• Install, maintain, repair, and replace various appliances; perform preventative maintenance.
• Install, maintain, repair door locks and related hardware; re-key cylinders and service doors.
• Inspect and repair flooring surfaces including tile, carpet, and linoleum; perform related finishing work.
• Inspect and repair drywall and plaster walls; perform painting and finishing work.
• Inspect properties daily and maintain curb appeal; respond to maintenance requests.
• Read and interpret sketches, drawings, and blueprints.
