Responsible for light maintenance, repair, and cleaning tasks performed safely and professionally. Extra precautions are required when working in patient/resident care areas, including keeping tools out of children's reach.
Candidate should possess basic mechanical knowledge and be competent in using hand tools, meters, measuring devices, and gauges.
Experience with blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals is helpful.
Must be able to accurately explain conditions and troubleshoot issues, prioritizing safety, morale, and departmental efficiency. Ability to work all shifts and hours as scheduled is required.
Compliance with all policies and dress code is mandatory. Good written and verbal communication skills are essential.
Works independently with minimal supervision. Knowledge of federal, state, and local codes, specifications, and ordinances is required.
Additional duties may include installation and maintenance of mechanical and stationary systems, boiler operations, grounds maintenance, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, HVAC, and bed repair.
On-call duties may be required as needed or directed by the department.
