Job summary

Riddle Village Retirement Community is hiring a Full Time Maintenance Mechanic to join our Facility Operations Team. The role includes interior and exterior repairs, safety testing, and daily upkeep to support our lifecare community.

The position requires a genuine interest in caring for the elderly, strong customer service, and the ability to work a weekend rotation and holidays. High school diploma is required, with vocational training preferred.

Qualifications

• Requires genuine interest in working for the elderly.
• Demonstrates excellent customer service.
• High school diploma or equivalent; vocational trade concentration preferred.
• At least 1 year of facility maintenance experience desired but not required.
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions, and speak English.

Responsibilities

• Perform interior and exterior repairs on a scheduled and as-needed basis; coordinate with other departments.
• Assist in fire alarm tests, drills, and emergency evacuations.
• Conduct daily maintenance checks of building, grounds, and facilities.
• Assist inspectors and contractors in testing, inspecting, or repairing equipment and systems.
• Requisition supplies and report needs to the Facility Operations Manager.
• Maintain tools and storage areas in good order; keep work areas neat.
• Assist with snow removal including shoveling, plowing, and salting.
• Perform other related duties as assigned to meet emergencies.
