Position Overview

The successful candidate will be required to work on a variety of equipment in support of the entire plant. This includes maintenance repair, inspection, testing, adjusting, aligning, troubleshooting, installing, and overhauling mechanical equipment. Working hours for the Day shift are Monday through Thursday, 0630 – 1700. Some overtime will be required and the carrying of a company provided phone may be required.

Position Overview

This includes maintenance repair, inspection, testing, adjusting, aligning, troubleshooting, installing, and overhauling mechanical equipment. Working hours for the Day shift are Monday through Thursday, 0630 – 1700. Some overtime will be required and the carrying of a company provided phone may be required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Candidates must demonstrate a positive attitude and show personal initiative while striving to satisfy customer needs through high quality maintenance and repair of critical plant equipment.
  • Work with Operations Coordinators, Lead Craftsmen, Planners, and Maintenance FLL’s to identify and resolve improvement opportunities related to work execution and equipment reliability.
  • Execute assigned work safely, effectively, and with high quality in support of the daily operations and maintenance plan.
  • Troubleshoot and repair equipment by using an analytical, step by step process, standard maintenance procedures, and troubleshooting guidelines.
  • Contribute to the shops’ safety process, including Job Safety Analysis (JSA) development, and instructing others on the proper use of equipment and tools.
  • Use SAP to enter notification and/or create work orders, enter job history, and reserve materials.
  • If a shift craftsman, update the Priority Orders system daily with findings after working on equipment in the field.

Skills And Knowledge Required

  • Highschool diploma or GED equivalent
  • Minimum of 5 years proven hands-on Industrial Maintenance experience.
  • Knowledge of safety, environmental, and compliance policies.
  • Ability to work closely with key maintenance and operations personnel in providing effective and quality results.
  • Must be able to produce sketches and provide inspection documentation that is required when evaluating complex equipment.
  • Fundamental shop math knowledge and the application of. (Manipulation of fractions, decimals, basic geometry and trigonometry.)
  • Skilled in the use of various precision measurement tools. (Vernier & dial calipers, ID & OD micrometers, dial indicators and set up tooling.)
  • Ability to understand and follow preventive maintenance plans and strategies.
  • Skilled in coupling alignment utilizing laser equipment and/or reverse dial indicator methods.
  • Knowledge of various types of and proper application of fasteners, gaskets, tubing, and piping.

DESIRED CERTIFICATION

  • NCCER Millwright - Certification Plus

Skills And Knowledge Desired

  • Knowledge of mechanical equipment throughout the plant.
  • Experience in coupling alignment - reverse dial and/or laser.
  • 5 years proven hands-on Industrial Maintenance experience in the major overhaul of critical equipment. (Air & process compressors, steam turbines, centrifuges, pumps, gearbox drives, blowers, and fans.)
  • Hands-on experience and fundamental knowledge in the areas of vibration, rotor balancing, and lubrication.
  • Experience working with and knowledge of centrifugal, vertical turbine, and positive displacement pumps.
  • Ability to maintain various drive components to ensure proper speed, torque, and direction.
  • Knowledge of the Process Safety Management (PSM) / Management of Change (MOC) process.
  • Computer skills for effective use of the SAP maintenance program, PC web-based data entry, and other applications.
