Job description

Job Title: **** **** Tooling Technician

Shift: Monday-Friday 7am-3pm ($20/hr - based on experience)

Job Summary : Responsible to safely maintain production equipment and meet the departments scheduled preventive maintenance obligations while assisting with configuration and set-up of production molds. Experience and knowledge of proper operation of injection molding press, material handling equipment, overhead crane.

Responsibilities :

• Through troubleshooting, identify machine malfunctions and isolate the failure mechanism
• Repair the failure mechanism in the most cost-effective manner
• Perform calibrations and re-qualifications on equipment at specified intervals and schedules
• Read blueprints, ladder logic, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic schematics to troubleshoot machines
• Work on mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic or computerized systems
• Assist process technicians and engineers with the installation and removal of process equipment
• Analyze and implement corrective action reports and process tracking mechanisms
• Record times and problems in equipment logs
• Provide daily equipment functioning activity information
• Set up standard and special purpose laboratory equipment to test, evaluate and calibrate other instruments and test equipment
• Disassemble instruments and equipment and inspect components for defects
• Align repairs, replaces, and balances component parts and circuitry
• Perform other duties as assigned

Essential skills and experience :

• High school diploma is required
• 3+ years’ experience in the plastics industry, maintaining and repairing injection molding machines
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Preferred skills and experience :

• 1+ year experience working in the manufacturing industry

Physical Demands : Subjected to lifting fifty (50) pounds, Repetitive bending, stooping, pushing, pulling, standing and sitting, with or without accommodation.

Work Environment : While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
