Job summary

Atkore is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic II in Merrillville, IN to perform preventive and corrective maintenance on plant machinery and auxiliary equipment. You will participate in 5S, safety objectives, and asset reliability programs while aligning with company standards.

Requirements include 3-5 years in industrial maintenance, ability to lift 60 lbs, and experience with mechanical systems, fabrication, rigging, and lubrication. This is a full-time, on-site role with competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of maintenance experience in medium to heavy industrial environments.
• Ability to lift and manipulate up to 60 lbs and stand/walk for long shifts.
• Experience in maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing mechanical systems.
• Familiarity with fabrication including burning, cutting, welding.
• Knowledge of lubrication systems and rigging best practices.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on plant machinery and equipment.
• Develop and execute PM, PdM, and CPL programs across assets.
• Plan work with supervisors, secure supplies, and prioritize tasks.
• Log maintenance work, time, materials, and resources used.
• Operate forklifts and other mobile equipment; ensure safe procedures.
• Respond to emergencies and uphold safety, quality, and housekeeping standards.
• Identify improvement opportunities and present solutions to management.
