Maintenance Mechanic II - Mechanicsville, VA

Job Overview:

Responsible for the prompt repair and maintenance of facilities, equipment, and company vehicles. Tasks include troubleshooting, record-keeping, ensuring safe operation of equipment, maintaining grounds, and managing supplies.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Maintain and repair complex machinery such as conveyor systems, scanners, and shrink wrap machines.
  • Repair and maintain Powered Industrial Trucks (PIT).
  • Perform battery change repairs.
  • Recommend repairs or replacements for malfunctioning equipment.
  • Prioritize repairs to ensure continuous production.
  • Conduct regular facility inspections.
  • Assist in developing preventive maintenance schedules.
  • Maintain inventory of spare parts and materials.
  • Coordinate with personnel to meet maintenance needs.
  • Report major concerns to management.
  • Follow HACCP and SQF policies and procedures.
  • Exercise good judgment, especially when supervision is not immediately available.
Job Requirements:
  • Ability to read blueprints and technical manuals.
  • Knowledge of production functions, basic computer skills, and organization skills.
  • Understanding of equipment operation, maintenance, and safety guidelines.
  • At least two years of experience with electronics and mechanical equipment; machining and fabrication experience are a plus.
  • Strong mechanical skills and proficiency with hand tools.
  • Ability to work independently and in team settings.
  • Good judgment, particularly in situations with limited supervision.
