Job summary

Luminis Health is seeking a skilled maintenance professional to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain hospital facility equipment. The role includes on-call on a rotating schedule and broad tech duties across mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and plumbing tasks.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED, with an AA in maintenance preferred, plus four years of hospital maintenance experience. A Maryland driver's license is required and safety compliance is a must.

  • Completed craft apprenticeship or equivalent maintenance experience.
  • Four years of maintenance experience, preferably in hospital/health care.

Responsibilities

  • Install and maintain facility equipment and know the site systems.
  • Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs and perform preventive maintenance.
  • Perform grounds and painting duties as needed.
  • Diagnose problems, replace parts, test and adjust.
  • Use hand and power tools, meters, and material handling equipment.
  • Read work orders and maintain safe, clean work areas.

Job description

Position Objective:

This position is responsible for performing highly diversified dutiesto install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain facility equipment according to safety, and predictive maintenance, to support the achievement of the sites business goals and objectives. This position will be on call on a rotating schedule.

Essential Job Duties:

  1. Perform highly diversified duties to install and maintain equipment and working knowledge of the facility’s equipment.
  2. Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of equipment and performs scheduled maintenance as required.
  3. Perform floor mechanic’s duties and responsibilities.
  4. Perform mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair as needed.
  5. Perform a variety of plumbing, electrical, maintenance, and carpentry functions.
  6. Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
  7. Responsible for maintaining regulated preventative maintenance(PM) for their area of responsibility.
  8. Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments.
  9. Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment in performing duties.
  10. Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.
Educational/Experience Requirements:

The minimum level of education and experience for this position includes:

  • High School Diploma/GED or equivalent.
  • AA degree in maintenance, electrical or industrial maintenance, preferred.
  • Completed a craft apprenticeship or equivalent number of years of education and maintenance experience.
  • Four years of maintenance experience preferably in a hospital or health care environment.
Required License/Certifications:
  • Building Operators Certification, preferred
  • Must have a valid Maryland drivers license and a driving record with no more than two (2) points.
Working Conditions, Equipment, Physical Demands:

There is a reasonable expectation that employees in this position will be exposed to blood-borne pathogens.
