Job summary

Luminis Health in Annapolis, MD seeks a facilities maintenance technician to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain hospital equipment, with on-call rotation to support operations and patient care.

You will perform electrical, mechanical, plumbing and carpentry tasks, carry out preventive maintenance, read work orders, diagnose problems and ensure safety and clean, orderly work areas. Requires high school diploma; AA degree or apprenticeship preferred and a valid Maryland driver’s license.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED or equivalent.
• AA degree in maintenance, electrical or industrial maintenance preferred.
• Completed a craft apprenticeship or equivalent maintenance experience.
• Four years of maintenance experience preferably in a hospital or health care environment.

Responsibilities

• Install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain facility equipment.
• Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs and perform scheduled maintenance.
• Perform a variety of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic troubleshooting and repair.
• Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform maintenance.
• Maintain regulated preventive maintenance (PM) for own area.
• Diagnose problems, replace parts, test and adjust.
• Use hand and power tools, meters and material handling equipment safely.
• Comply with safety regulations and keep work areas clean and orderly.

Job description

Position Objective

This position is responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain facility equipment according to safety, and predictive maintenance, to support the achievement of the sites business goals and objectives. This position will be on call on a rotating schedule.

Essential Job Duties

• Perform highly diversified duties to install and maintain equipment and working knowledge of the facility’s equipment.
• Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of equipment and performs scheduled maintenance as required.
• Perform floor mechanic’s duties and responsibilities.
• Perform mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair as needed.
• Perform a variety of plumbing, electrical, maintenance, and carpentry functions.
• Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
• Responsible for maintaining regulated preventative maintenance(PM) for their area of responsibility.
• Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments.
• Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment in performing duties.
• Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.

Educational / Experience Requirements

• High School Diploma/GED or equivalent.
• AA degree in maintenance, electrical or industrial maintenance, preferred.
• Completed a craft apprenticeship or equivalent number of years of education and maintenance experience.
• Four years of maintenance experience preferably in a hospital or health care environment.

Required License / Certifications

• Building Operators Certification, preferred.
• Must have a valid Maryland drivers license and a driving record with no more than two (2) points.
