Job summary

Waukesha County is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic II for the Facilities Maintenance Division to perform repairs and preventive maintenance on building systems, including mechanical, electrical, and HVAC components. The role offers a Monday–Friday 7:00 am–3:30 pm schedule with seven weekend shifts and two holiday shifts per year.

Qualified candidates will have a high school diploma or GED and five years of relevant work experience, including two years in a responsible level.

  • Five years of maintenance experience across building systems, mechanical/electrical, HVAC.
  • Two of the five years must be at a responsible level (Maintenance Mechanic I or equivalent).

SALARY RANGE$27.49 - $38.19WORK ASSIGNMENT DETAILSWaukesha County's Department of Public Works Facilities Maintenance Division is looking for their next Maintenance Mechanic II.The selected individual will work Monday - Friday, 7am to 3:30pm. High School Diploma or GED.2. Five (5) years of work experience involving general repairs and maintenance to building construction systems, mechanical/electrical systems, heating, ventilating, air conditioning systems, and related areas, two (2) of the five (5) years of experience must be at a responsible level (Maintenance Mechanic I or equivalent).3. Relevant training at a technical school, college, university, or apprenticeship program may be substituted on a year-for-year basis to meet the work experience requirement.In addition to the above, candidates must possess the physical and mental abilities to perform the essential job functions as listed in the Maintenance Mechanic II ADA Essential Functions Worksheet .
