Job summary

Randstad USA partners with a top-tier manufacturing facility in Chattanooga, TN to hire a Maintenance Mechanic for the third shift (11 PM–7 AM). You will maintain and repair industrial machinery, support utilities, and follow safety standards to keep production running smoothly.

The ideal candidate has at least 3 years of maintenance experience, a High School diploma, and proficiency in electrical/mechanical troubleshooting, welding, and blueprint reading.

Qualifications

• MUST HAVE: 3 years of maintenance experience.
• Maintenance & repair of industrial machinery and equipment.
• Operate and repair utility equipment including boilers and air compressors.
• Interpret blueprints and technical manuals for diagnosis.
• Develop preventative maintenance schedules and perform shop tasks.
• Coordinate with contractors and follow safety standards.
• Assist training and participate in continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair industrial machinery, plumbing and fixtures to support production goals.
• Inspect, dismantle, repair, and reassemble equipment with adjustments as needed.
• Operate and repair boilers, air compressors, water treatment components.
• Diagnose issues using blueprints and manuals for mechanical/electrical systems.
• Develop and execute preventative maintenance to minimize downtime.
• Coordinate complex repairs with external contractors when required.
• Maintain clean, safe work area and participate in 5S practices.

Responsibilities

As a Maintenance Mechanic, you will be an active member of our team, maintaining and repairing industrial machinery, plumbing, and facility fixtures to support production goals.

• MUST HAVE: 3 years of maintenance
• Machinery Maintenance & Repair: Inspect, dismantle, repair, and reassemble manufacturing machinery and equipment, making necessary adjustments for optimal operation. Perform modifications and equipment installations as needed.
• Plant Support Systems: Operate and repair essential utility equipment, including boilers, air compressors, and water softeners.
• Troubleshooting & Technical Specifications: Interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals to diagnose issues with mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and basic electrical systems.
• Preventative Maintenance: Develop and execute preventative/predictive maintenance schedules to minimize downtime. Conduct testing on components (such as fuses) and perform shop tasks including welding, soldering, and brazing.
• Contractor & Support Coordination: Handle complex repair projects and liaise with external contractors when required.
• Safety & Workplace Standards: Maintain a clean, organized work environment through continuous 5S participation, housekeeping, and required PPE usage.
• Team Collaboration: Assist in training apprentices and peers, and actively participate in company Continuous Improvement initiatives.

The essential functions of this role include:

• working up to 4 hrs of overtime per week
