Mitsubishi Power Americas, Inc. is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic I to repair, install, and maintain electrical and mechanical components of production machinery. On-site duties require readiness for 24/7 emergencies including weather-related events and outages.

The role emphasizes safety, teamwork, and adherence to company and customer safety procedures. Ideal candidates have at least two years of related experience or training and strong problem-solving skills.

Qualifications

• At least two years of related experience or training, or equivalent education/experience.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions; write reports; present information.
• Ability to perform basic math and understand measurements, ratios, and percentages.
• Ability to follow instructions and solve problems with concrete variables.
• Basic PC skills: email, word processing, spreadsheets, graphics.
• Ability to stand/walk; lift up to 25 lb regularly, 50 lb occasionally.
• Work in a loud environment and exposure to chemicals.
• Follow safety procedures and wear PPE (hard hat, safety glasses, hearing protection).

Responsibilities

• Repair, install, and maintain electrical and mechanical components of production machinery and equipment.
• Be available on-site for emergencies 24-7-365, including breakdowns and weather events.
• Comply with safety standards and report unsafe activities.
• Complete preventive maintenance tasks.
• Assist with small projects as a team member, installer, and fabricator.
• Read electrical drawings and select direct replacement components.
• Design and install basic control circuits using switches, relays, indicators, and buttons.
• Understand PLC, HMI, PCNC, SCADA and related systems.
• Read mechanical drawings and interpret symbols.
• Communicate effectively with all levels of staff and management.
• Protect confidential information and maintain honesty and integrity.
