Job summary

Nature's Bakery is seeking an Industrial Maintenance Mechanic to provide electrical and mechanical maintenance for plant operations. The role focuses on preventive maintenance and production support, with a report to the maintenance manager.

The position requires reading blueprints, troubleshooting equipment, and maintaining regulatory compliance with USDA/OSHA/FDA/EPA/SQF and local governments. OT available as needed.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in industrial maintenance; food production a plus.
  • Willing to work 2nd or 3rd shift and overtime when needed.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain plant and facility equipment following safety rules and GMP practices.
  • Install and troubleshoot conveyors, ovens, detectors, and other equipment.
  • Read blueprints, schematics, and manuals; perform repairs and preventative maintenance.
  • Operate forklifts and other equipment as required.
  • Maintain and manage parts inventory in CMMS; complete PMs.

Shift: 2nd shift Tuesday-Friday 12:00pm-8:30pm, Saturday 6am-2:30pm
With OT when needed.

Pay: $30.75 per hour , Shift differential is applied for eligible shifts.

SUMMARY

The primary role of the Industrial Maintenance Mechanic is to provide competent & effective Electrical and Mechanical Maintenance support to the Plant and Facility operations in a SAFE manner. The Maintenance Mechanic will be responsible for maintaining, adjusting and repairing of plant machinery to meet industry standards while ensuring compliance with all regulatory agencies, including but not limited to USDA, OSHA, FDA, EPA, SQF and Local Governments. The position will require a flexible schedule focusing on preventive maintenance and production support. This role reports to the maintenance manager.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • The duties and responsibilities of a Industrial Maintenance Mechanic include maintaining operations equipment following LOTO, GMP and food safety practices in a quick efficient manner. Also included the following.
  • Install and/or troubleshoot manufacturing equipment such as conveyors, formers, case erectors, wrappers, x-ray units, metal detectors, mixers and industrial sized oven.
  • Follow work instructions and OSHA safety rules, including the use of all PPE and other safety equipment in an industrial environment.
  • Must be able to work safely with electricity and have experience with single and 3 phase circuits. Working with 480V is required as well.
  • Must be able to read and use blueprints, schematics, maintenance manuals, required tools, and various types of standard testing equipment with the ability to fabricate metal to some acceptable level.
  • Diagnose problems, replace and repair parts, detect and replace defective items, test and make final adjustments for high speed production equipment.
  • Must be able to maintain equipment in accordance with diagrams and manufacturer's specifications while following preventative maintenance, work orders and scheduled PM's in a CMMS program.
  • Maintain a clean and efficient parts inventory while notifying of stock depletion for reorder in CMMS.
  • Be able to use Lathes, mills, bandsaw, drill press, etc. as required to repair parts or fabricate parts as needed.
  • Complete PMs efficiently and thoroughly.
  • Able to operate equipment such as forklifts, scissors lift, and other appropriate equipment.
  • Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • 3+ years of experience working as an experienced level Industrial Production Mechanic, Food production a plus.
  • Willing to work 2nd or 3rd shift if required and flexibility to work overtime and weekends on business need requirements.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

A high school diploma or its equivalent is required. Complete working knowledge of the manufacturing process, typically resulting from a minimum of 3 year of experience in related jobs.

The base pay range for this position at commencement of employment is between the range listed below, however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.The total compensation package for this position will include variable pay, medical and dental benefits, participation in 401k plan, and paid time off benefits.Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an applicant receives an offer of employment.
