Job summary

The State of Florida Department of Management Services, Division of Real Estate Development and Management, is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic for an on-site role in Tallahassee, FL. The incumbent will perform preventive maintenance and repairs on building systems and related equipment.

Responsibilities include daily inspections, completing work orders, and maintaining safe, orderly mechanical rooms, while ensuring positive interactions with tenants and the public.

Qualifications

• Two years of maintenance or repair experience in buildings, plumbing, electrical, or mechanical systems.
• Physically able to climb stairs, work at heights, and operate near loud equipment.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• After-hours availability for callbacks or shift work as needed.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance on plumbing, electrical, heating, air conditioning and ventilating equipment.
• Inspect equipment daily and report issues to supervisor.
• Complete work orders for maintenance tasks and repairs.
• Maintain mechanical rooms and equipment in immaculate condition.
• Maintain good rapport with tenants and public; provide courteous service.
