Maintenance Mechanic (HVAC/Electrical Emphasis)

Position Summary: Moraine Park Technical College is seeking a full-time Maintenance Mechanic for our Fond du Lac Campus. This role involves repairing, maintaining, inspecting, and installing systems, focusing on building trades such as HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and carpentry. The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or equivalent, completion of an accredited technical or vocational training program, and at least five years of relevant work experience.

Responsibilities include:

• Conducting inspections and diagnosing issues in buildings and grounds.
• Operating and repairing HVAC systems, electrical circuits, plumbing, and related equipment.
• Assisting with minor construction projects and fabricating metal works.
• Maintaining a safe environment, including snow and ice removal.
• Managing energy systems and responding to emergency situations outside of working hours.

Qualifications:

• Knowledge of building maintenance equipment and procedures.
• Ability to diagnose and repair mechanical problems.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 applications.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and promote an inclusive environment.

Preferred qualifications include:

• EPA HVAC Refrigerant Certification.
• Experience with flooring, roofing, and forklift operation (certification within 6 months).

Additional requirements:

• Valid driver’s license and ability to perform physical labor.
• Capability to work in various environmental conditions and respond to emergencies.

Salary range: $29.38-$34.07 (pending approval).

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. (academic year), and summer hours as specified.
