Job Description

This position is responsible for the operation and maintenance of boiler plant, air compressors, breathing air compressors along with associated dryer/purifiers and adiabatic cooling tower. Provide support to piping service, but not limited to piping installations, welding, troubleshooting, and repair of yard water, sewer, steam condensate and plumbing systems. Operation of boiler plant and air compressors. Assisting with crane preventative maintenance is occasionally required (company provided training for this task).

Required/Preferred Education/Training

Required:

  • High School Diploma/GED.
  • State of Maine boiler operator's license (Grade C).
  • 4th class Grade B license.

Preferred:

  • 3rd Class Grade A license.
  • 2nd Class Grade AA license.
Required/Preferred Experience

Required:

  • 5-10 years' experience in industrial/commercial plumbing, pipefitting, boiler operation, waste disposal and potable water systems.
  • Familiarity with IBC codes.
  • Demonstrate ability to work steam, condensate, water and sewer systems.
  • Knowledge of steam distribution and condensate recovery systems.
  • Working knowledge and experience with operation and maintenance of gas/oil fired boilers, air compressors and air dryers.

Preferred:

  • Maine State plumbing license.
