Job Description

The GMP Asset Mechanic is responsible for ensuring that GMP production assets are evaluated prior to purchase, qualified, maintained, and properly commissioned and decommissioned. This individual reviews equipment and room designs, executes qualification and maintenance activities, troubleshoots failures, implements corrective actions, and develops maintenance plans, tasks, procedures, and schedules. They also procure spare parts and oversee external contractors while documenting activities.

Key Accountabilities

  1. Performs planned and unplanned maintenance on assets in a GMP environment, ensuring proper documentation.
  2. Troubleshoots equipment failures, determines root causes, and implements corrective and preventative actions.
  3. Manages and issues equipment tooling, maintaining, tracking, and ensuring availability.
  4. Coordinates equipment relocations, ensuring no damage and full functionality before use.
  5. Supports installation of new equipment, including FAT, SAT, qualification protocols, and maintenance planning.
  6. Collaborates with various departments to schedule, perform, and document tasks related to GMP assets.
  7. Develops task lists and maintenance plans based on manuals and manufacturer support.
  8. Creates and reviews work orders, permits, change controls, SOPs, and specifications.
  9. Trains personnel on equipment maintenance, operation, and SOP adherence.
  10. Follows safety guidelines and participates in safety meetings.
  11. Provides input for budgeting and manages departmental expenses.
  12. Maintains professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  13. Ensures compliance with regulatory requirements.
  14. Provides 24-hour emergency support and performs other duties as assigned.
  15. Adheres to safety and sustainability standards, reporting issues promptly.
