Job summary

Oldcastle APG, a CRH company, is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to uphold and repair production equipment at our Virginia facility. The role involves servicing heavy trucks, machines, and production lines, using a range of hand and power tools, welding, and testing systems for proper operation.

The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, plus technical training or experience. Candidates should be able to lift up to 80 lbs, work in varying temperatures, and maintain

Qualifications

• High school diploma / equivalent
• Technical or vocational training or equivalent experience
• Mechanical aptitude essential
• Skilled in the use of hand and power tools
• Knowledge of hydraulics, mechanics, electricity, carpentry or related field preferred
• Lift tools and parts up to 80 lbs with assistance if needed

Responsibilities

• Install, adjust, and repair production equipment, heavy trucks and special purpose machines
• Operate hand and power tools to repair, grease, weld, cut and replace parts
• Weld and use cutting torch as required
• Perform general repairs to plant structures
• Keep work area clean and orderly
• Test and troubleshoot malfunctioning machinery and discuss with Head Mechanic for approval
• Replace faulty parts, electrical wires, motors, controls and circuit boards
• Install equipment and electrical components and test for proper functioning
• Dismantle equipment to access defective parts
• Replace and install parts as needed
• Lubricate and clean parts and equipment
• Other duties as needed
