The Mechanic IV is responsible for training newly hired Maintenance Mechanics and serves as a Lead among the mechanical staff. Performs preventative, corrective, and routine maintenance of facilities, buildings, and equipment. Responds to work requests timely and professionally and completes work assignments. This position is responsible for the installation and replacement of various maintenance related equipment and structures. The Maintenance Mechanic IV may be required to work nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime as necessary and approved by the Supervisor.Education: Required: High School Diploma or Equivalent Preferred: Trade School in the mechanical fields Experience: Required: 5+ years of experience in maintenance/mechanical in a multi-level/commercial facility with at least two of those years in a healthcare facility. Skills: Strong leadership skills. Advanced communication skills. Ability to prioritize workload. Advanced skills necessary to find solutions to equipment malfunctions and initiate necessary repairs. Advanced skills to read and interpret blueprints and schematics for repairs to building equipment and structure. Advanced knowledge of the safe operation of all tools used in the performance of duties. Advanced knowledge of regulatory requirements governing fire alarm systems, HVAC systems, electrical, plumbing, life safety systems and building repairs.
