Job summary

New Weds Foods in Chicago, IL seeks a skilled Mechanic to perform preventative maintenance and emergency repairs on production machinery, improving reliability and glove quality. You will work with the maintenance team across packaging lines, ovens, conveyors, and robotics.

Responsibilities include reading schematics, diagnosing electrical issues, installing and testing electromechanical equipment, maintaining logs, and providing on-call coverage.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree in Maintenance Technology field and or equivalent Education, Experience and Training.
• 1-5 years manufacturing experience preferred.
• Through knowledge of Maintenance jargon, Maintenance Best Practices Knowledge; OSHA, safety, etc.
• Proven ability to work in a team environment
• Working knowledge of GMP, OSHA and Production needs.
• Ability to walk or stand for prolonged periods; Ability to bend, stoop, reach and lift to 55 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance on production equipment as scheduled.
• Repair and upgrade machinery and equipment to ensure proper operation.
• Read schematics and blueprints to diagnose electrical issues.
• Install, test and maintain robotic equipment and other electromechanical systems.
• Fill out daily log reports and communicate with incoming shifts.
• Perform electrical and distribution lock out/tag out per safety protocols.
• Assist in installations and acceptance of new equipment.
