Job Summary
The Maintenance Technician oversees the performance and maintenance of large production machinery. Responsible for mechanical troubleshooting, dismantling, repairing, and assembling equipment, and using diagnostic tools. This role involves high-stress troubleshooting within specific time constraints.
Minimum Requirements
- 3+ years’ maintenance experience in a production environment (food manufacturing preferred)
- 3+ years’ industrial electrical experience
- 1 year experience with boiler equipment
- Knowledge of food/chemical processing, GMPs, clean design, etc.
- Familiarity with batch and continuous processing, filtration, extraction, packaging
- Knowledge of food safety programs like SQF, Kosher
- High school diploma or GED
- Electrical knowledge: single and three-phase, AC, DC, high/low voltage
- Ability to work overtime, off-shift, and weekends
- Basic tools proficiency

Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform preventive maintenance as per manufacturer guidelines
- Visually inspect and test machinery for malfunctions
- Clean, oil, lubricate, and replace parts
- Record and report damages and order replacements
- Identify causes of breakdowns and repair efficiently
- Document work performed
- Maintain shop areas, parts, tools, and supplies
- Coordinate scheduled maintenance with management
- Collaborate on new product modifications and tests
- Diagnose and repair equipment, perform root cause analysis
- Support raw materials and construction methods
- Communicate equipment issues to staff
- Set up and break down food processing equipment
- Perform building maintenance repairs
- Other duties as assigned
Other Functions and Responsibilities
- Follow instructions and safety protocols
- Participate in safety programs and report hazards
- Ensure OSHA compliance
- Report accidents and unsafe conditions
- Troubleshoot and diagnose issues
- Read and understand schematics and diagrams
- Perform routine maintenance and organize tools
Physical Requirements
- Stand, walk, kneel, climb, and manual labor regularly
- Lift up to 75 pounds occasionally
- Work in loud, hot, cold, and wet environments
