Job description

The Maintenance Technician will oversee the performance and maintenance of large production machinery. Responsible for troubleshooting, dismantling, adjusting, repairing, and assembling equipment. Uses diagnostic tools to perform checkouts. This position involves high stress due to troubleshooting and repairs within tight time constraints.

Minimum Requirements:

  • 3+ years’ maintenance experience in a production environment (food manufacturing)
  • 3+ years’ industrial electrical experience
  • 1 year experience with boiler equipment
  • Knowledge of food/chemical processing, GMPs, clean design
  • Familiarity with batch and continuous processing, filtration, extraction, packaging
  • Food safety program knowledge (SQF, Kosher)
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Knowledge of single and three-phase electrical systems, AC, DC, high and low voltages
  • Ability to work overtime, off-shift, weekends
  • Basic tools proficiency

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance
  • Inspect, test, clean, lubricate machinery
  • Record and report issues, order parts
  • Identify causes of breakdowns and repair efficiently
  • Document work, maintain tools and parts
  • Coordinate maintenance schedules, collaborate on equipment modifications
  • Diagnose and repair equipment, perform root cause analysis
  • Provide technical support, assist with setup and teardown of food processing equipment
  • Perform building maintenance tasks
  • Other duties as assigned

Other Functions & Responsibilities:

  • Follow instructions, comply with safety and OSHA standards
  • Report unsafe conditions, participate in safety programs
  • Assist in troubleshooting, read schematics, perform routine maintenance

Physical Requirements:

  • Stand, walk, stoop, kneel, climb, manual labor
  • Lift up to 75 pounds occasionally
  • Exposure to noise, heat, cold, wet conditions
