Job summary

Chemtrade's Maintenance Mechanics at the Richmond, CA sulphuric acid production facility are responsible for maintaining, rebuilding, repair, and the preventative maintenance of all plant operating equipment and facility buildings and grounds safely and in accordance with our SOPs.

The role requires 3+ years of experience in industrial/chemical environments, a high school diploma or GED, strong computer skills, and the ability to work off-shifts, wear PPE, and read technical documents.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of relevant maintenance experience in industrial or chemical environments.
• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Ability to use computers, MS Office and maintenance management systems.
• Ability to read safety rules, manuals, diagrams and manufacturer literature.
• Willingness to work off-shift including weekends and holidays.
• Capable of tasks in all weather and at heights while wearing PPE.

Responsibilities

• Tank vessel opening and clean outs.
• Perform certified welding, cutting and burning.
• Repair pumps, gearboxes and motors.
• Align mechanical power transmission couplings and sheaves.
• Change piping and valves.
• General plant upkeep and maintenance.
• Serve on emergency response team.
• Complete work orders and safety/maintenance forms.
