Job summary

Safeway is seeking a Maintenance Technician at our San Leandro, CA milk facility to keep equipment running smoothly and ensure quality standards. You will troubleshoot, repair, and perform preventive maintenance on dairy processing machinery, from pasteurizers to packaging lines.

You will collaborate with production teams, document maintenance activities, and procure parts as needed. The role requires electrical/mechanical repair experience, ability to read schematics, and a willingness to work

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in warehouse, fulfillment, or manufacturing.
• Experience with mechanical and electrical repair; ability to read schematics.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance on electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment.
• Follow diagrams, manuals, and specifications for repairs.
• Troubleshoot and identify malfunctions.
• Inspect and remove defective parts using hand and power tools.
• Measure and adjust part dimensions as needed.
• Communicate preventive maintenance needs and ensure compliance.
• Fabricate repair parts using machine shop tools.
• Maintain inventory of equipment, parts, and supplies.
• Complete daily maintenance paperwork and prepare equipment setups.
• Ensure a safe and clean working environment by following procedures and regulations.
