Job description

Job Title: Mechanic – Board Shop

Role & Responsibilities:

1. Compliance with all safety and housekeeping rules.
2. Become familiar with plant work order system.
3. Proficiency in using hand and power tools, cranes/hoist, rigging equipment, welders, fall restraint, etc.
4. Work as part of a team, communicating and cooperating to achieve the required results.
5. Participate actively in all plant safety and continuous improvement initiatives as required by supervision.
6. Adaptable to scheduling requirements including shift work, overtime, weekends, etc., as applicable.

Qualifications & Requirements:

1. Strong mechanical background.
2. Ability to diagnose and repair bearings, reducers, and other equipment.
3. Welding and fabrication experience.
4. Experience servicing heavy equipment such as loaders, dozers, backhoes, dump trucks, and lifts.
5. Willingness to work the assigned schedule.
6. Understanding of all plant & departmental safety rules, standards, and programs.
7. Physical ability to meet the position's requirements, including negotiating steps and ladders.
8. Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
9. Ability to understand verbal and written instructions and perform tasks efficiently.
10. Responsible for maintaining personal tools as specified in the operator rate program.
