Montefiore Mount Vernon Hospital is seeking a skilled maintenance technician to perform semi-skilled tasks across plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and grounds work, including equipment repairs and routine upkeep.

The role requires hands-on ability with tools, adherence to safety, and the capacity to work on-site 8 AM to 4 PM with weekend alternations, within the MMV Engineering department. Competitive hourly pay and union-negotiated terms apply.

Qualifikationen

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Ability to lift or maneuver 50lbs.
• NYS Driver’s License Required.
• Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC and Carpentry.
• Five years of experience semi-skilled technical work or craft, preferably in a hospital setting.
• Ability to work independently and conscientiously with minimal supervision.
• Trade School a plus.

Aufgaben

• Use manual and power tools as required.
• Performs duties in accordance with verbal or written instructions, plans, sketches and specifications.
• Reporting on Maintenance forms, time and materials used, repairs in progress or completed.
• Responds to emergency situations during normal and non-working hours such as storms, internal and external disasters, etc.
• Obtain customer signature on completed repair forms.
• Maintain work area in an organized, orderly, clean and safe fashion.
• Keeps supervisor informed of job status, inventory and other relevant issues.

Job Summary

Performs all semi-skilled tasks, such as, but not limited to, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, metal work, mechanical equipment repairs and adjustments, grounds work, clean-up, painting, preventative maintenance and routine maintenance and repairs, service to HY AC, building repairs and upgrades.

• Performs assignments in an organized and productive manner
• Keeps supervisor informed of job status inventory and other relevant issues
• Cooperative, flexible and carries out orders in a conscientious manner
• Good attendance, prompt, adequate notice for time off
