Job summary

Richland County Government is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic to install, maintain, and repair mechanical, HVAC, hydraulic, electrical and plumbing systems in county facilities.

The role includes carpentry and minor construction tasks; requires the ability to follow procedures while exercising discretion in methods. A valid driver's license and 1–3 years of related experience are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED (or vocational training).
• Basic electrical, plumbing and mechanical skills required.
• Experience in building maintenance is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with installation, maintenance and repair of mechanical systems and equipment.
• Help maintain HVAC and refrigeration equipment in county facilities.
• Support plumbing and electrical maintenance as needed.
• Perform preventive maintenance tasks as scheduled.
• Document work in CMMS and update records accordingly.
• Maintain tools and prepare work areas for repairs.
