Program Overview:

Frito Lay’s Maintenance Mechanic Apprenticeship program aims to develop students into industrial maintenance mechanics. The program combines electrical and mechanical theory instruction at a local technical school with hands-on experience working alongside experienced mechanics. Participants will learn to rebuild, repair, troubleshoot, fabricate, and operate industrial equipment.

Candidate Requirements:

• Attend a local technical school such as York Technical School, Central Piedmont Community College, or another approved institution.
• Work part-time (16-24 hours/week) or full-time with benefits if averaging 29 hours/week, with work hours flexible around class schedule.
• Complete at least one semester in an industrial maintenance or similar program.
• Maintain enrollment with acceptable grades and on-the-job performance and attendance.
• Be authorized to work in the United States on a permanent basis.
• Be at least 18 years old.

Additional Information:

Participants will attend all required trainings, including safety and job-specific programs. Frito Lay will provide necessary personal protective equipment, safety boots, shirts, and tools.
