Job summary

Smithfield Foods, Inc. is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic to perform daily preventive maintenance and ensure production lines stay in good mechanical order. You will work with Production and Quality teams, diagnose issues, and repair machinery while following GMPs and safety rules.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED with relevant maintenance experience or a technical diploma/associate degree. Relocation assistance may be available for qualified applicants.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED with 1+ years in industrial maintenance or 4 years in similar environment.
Vocational/Technical Diploma or an Associate degree from a technical school.
Ability to work in team and with contractors; forklift/power equipment experience.

Responsibilities

Perform daily PMs and keep production lines in good order.
Assist other teams (Production, Quality) as needed.
Follow GMPs and safety practices; inspect and test machinery.
Dismantle defective machines and replace parts; clean and lubricate components.
Adhere to ISO 14001 procedures and company safety rules.
Perform other duties as assigned.
